About the Space
The parcel of land where WFF is beginning is located in the Newhall/Whitneyville area of southern Hamden. This area is a food desert with high rates of food insecurity that especially struggled with the supply chain shortages at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The land itself is approximately ¼ of an acre and is located on the corner of Putnam Ave and Winnett St. in Hamden Connecticut. It was purchased in 2017 by Cormac Levenson and Donated to Winnett Food Forest in 2022. We hope that it can serve as a model for other future forests, large and small, in the area.
